In the framework of the 4CE-MED project different harvesting strategies were tested. In Italy the trials were developed at the experimental farm of the University of Bologna, situated in Cadriano (BO). The UNIBO team and the CREA team jointly run this activity. An innovative harvesting strategy was developed by cutting and swathing camelina plants when residual seed moisture was at about 40%, then after one week the plants were threshed with a combine. A delay of one week was recorded in plots harvested with conventional technique (i.e. harvesting when seed residual moisture is at about 10%).
